# Getting started

> From zero to your first release email in about five minutes.

## Prerequisites

* An email address.
* A list of cloud-native tools your team runs (Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Helm, etc.).
  You can start with one and add more later.

## 1. Create an account

1. Go to [www.relnx.io](https://www.relnx.io) and click **Sign up**.
2. Sign up with email + password, or use **GitHub** OAuth.
3. Verify your email when the confirmation arrives.

You're now on the **Starter** plan — free, up to 3 followed tools, email
notifications included. (See [Plans](./reference/plans).)

## 2. Follow your first tool

1. From the top nav, open **Tools**. Browse or search for what your stack runs.
2. Open a tool's page (for example, `kubernetes`).
3. Click **Follow**.

That's it — Relnx will now track that tool's releases.

> **Hit your Starter limit?** The 3-tool cap is enforced at the database level;
> you'll see a friendly upgrade prompt when you try to follow a 4th. See
> [Follow tools](./how-to/follow-tools) for details.

## 3. Confirm email notifications are on

1. Click your avatar (top right) → **Settings**.
2. Under **Notifications**, confirm **Email notifications** is enabled.
3. (Optional) Use the per-tool toggles to mute specific tools.

When any tool you follow ships a new release, you'll get a single consolidated
email — one per sync window, not one per release.

## 4. (Optional) See an existing release

While you wait for a new release, open
[www.relnx.io/releases](https://www.relnx.io/releases) and pick a recent one. You'll
see the AI-generated summary, breaking-change call-outs, and links to the
source PRs.
